Creating a gallery on a small wall space

Creating a gallery on a small wall space

This narrow wall in my daughter’s bedroom was begging for attention. It looked bare and unfinished compared to the rest of the room. Although it’s a small wall space, it was a challenging one to style. The wall is narrow, sandwiched between two doors and has two light switches and an electrical outlet. I tried placing a small dresser against the wall to cover up the switches, but it felt...

How to hang two pictures side-by-side above a desk

When choosing art for your home, consider the shape of your walls and place pieces to fit the space. Here, the short, wide space between the window and table is perfect to display anything horizontal in shape. Since I didn’t have a single landscape sized piece, I hung two small pictures horizontally. First, place your furniture exactly where you want before you start hammering nails in your wall. Take all the accessories...

How to hang pictures vertically

How to hang pictures vertically

Sometimes the shape of a wall dictates what size of artwork you choose and how to hang it. For example, a wide horizontal wall is perfect to showcase a landscape piece or a group of smaller frames grouped together horizontally. On the other hand, a tall, skinny wall is the ideal spot to display a tall piece or a group of smaller pieces like we did here. Tall, skinny walls are...

Can Hang & Level™ impress a Smart Shopper?

Daphne Munro, the host of ABC 15’s Smart Shopper series, is always on the lookout for great deals and new products to try before her viewers decide whether to buy. She recently did just that with our Hang & Level – she wanted to test out whether it really makes picture hanging as easy as we say it does. How to hang a heavy clock

How to hang a heavy clock

I love decorating with large clocks. In addition to keeping time, they’re a fun and affordable way to decorate a wall. The challenge with hanging large clocks is to figure out how to deal with the large keyholes they’re often fitted with and to choose the right hanging hardware to use to safely secure them to the wall. Sometimes, it’s all about owning the right tools to get the job done and...

Thumbs Up from the Handyman

Thumbs Up from the Handyman

A professional handyman tries hundreds of tools, so when he gives something a thumbs up, it means a lot. That’s why we were so excited to hear how handyman Shawn Schmidt had done just that for our Hang & Level, Déco Hammer and Anchor Points. In his demo for KFRY-TV, Shawn was quick to point out that our tools are especially handy for those who don’t need or have expensive professional tools around...

To the Rescue: Saving Walls, Fingers and Sanity

To the Rescue: Saving Walls, Fingers and Sanity

We’re beaming with pride, and maybe even blushing a little, after reading a media product review that makes our tools seem almost heroic. The Times of Northwest Indiana calls Hang & Level a “sanity-saver for … anyone with walls.” Their review also praises our Déco Hammer, noting that its ideal size and weight help to make smashed fingers a thing of the past.  It may not be quite super-hero stuff, but we’ll gladly settle for everyday household...

Tip Tuesday: Squint to Line Up Art

Here's a quick tip that never fails. When I'm hanging pictures and I want them to be perfectly level, I close one eye to focus on lining up both top edges — it works like a charm.
