Whether you’re hanging three picture frames above a headboard like in this inspiration picture from IKEA, or above a couch, a table, or a desk, the hanging strategy is the same.
Start by deciding how far above the furniture you want to hang your arrangement and how much spacing to leave between each frame. Once you have that figured out, hang the middle frame first, then proceed to hang the frame on the left or the right (it doesn’t matter which side you do first). The process is much easier than you think — check this step-by-step article where we show exactly how it’s done.
Note: As a general rule, when hanging pictures above a headboard the bottom of your frames should hang 8” to 10” above it. If you hang your artwork any higher it will look like it’s floating away from the headboard instead of being connected to it.
