UTR’s TV Commercial turns 7

TV commercial_shoot

On April 13, 2007 we filmed a 30 second TV commercial — it’s been seven years since we made the ad. This may sound cliché, but wow, where does the time go?

I remember the whole day. Yes, it took a whole day — 9 hours to be exact — to film a 30 second TV commercial for our Hang & Level picture hanging tool. That said, time flew by so quickly, and we were (and still are!) so pleased with the results.

The whole studio was painted in white (including the floor) and salsa music played in the background to add a bit of fun and lightness to the commercial. For most people hanging pictures is a pain in the you-know-what, so the fresh and fun music was chosen on purpose to add to the sentiment that “hanging pictures is a snap with Hang & Level.”  I was dressed in black from head to toe to ensure the focus was on the yellow tool and the picture frames. The goal was to film a commercial that would be timeless and I must say that we achieved this goal since we still use this ad today, a full seven years later!

Many thanks to the Joe Media group for helping us with this project. Everybody involved was so creative, professional, and a lot of fun to work with. What a great experience!

In the picture, Director Jim Thalheimer and me, Liette.
