Throwback Thursday: Viva Las Vegas

It’s time for another Throwback Thursday! This time we’re going to Vegas!

We chose this topic for this Throwback Thursday as we’re heading to Las Vegas this coming weekend, so it was at the top of our minds. Back in May of 2009 at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas Hang & Level won a Retailers’ Choice Award as one of 33 products selected as most innovative products at the show.

If you’ve never been, this annual trade show is held every May at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The show features more than 250,000 products covering everything related to DIY Home Improvement. It’s a huge production, with vendors coming from all over the world.

Receiving this award was quite the honour and we were beyond thrilled to have been chosen. Thanks to this award, our company and Hang & Level received extra attention from the show judges, retail buyers and fellow vendors as well. Since the whole point of going to a trade show is spreading the word about your products, we didn’t mind it at all!

Although five years have passed since we won the award, the blue ribbon we received is proudly displayed at our office and gives us an excuse to brag a little from time to time. I like to say that what happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay in Vegas.

In addition to wining the award, the Hardware Retailing magazine featured Hang & Level in its July 2009 issue along with the other winners of a Retailers’ Choice Awards. The Hardware Retailing magazine is the “most widely circulated and most influential magazine in the hardware field,” so it was quite an honour for our picture hanging tool to be featured in it for some additional exposure. The magazine referred to Hang & Level as “the go-to tool for picture hanging,” which made us feel particularly proud.
