Speedy Decorating Tip: Just Add a Big Red Bow
We have another one of our quick decorating tips for your house that can be done within five minutes with virtually no cost to you. Adding a big red bow to anything during the holiday season immediately gives a feeling of “Christmas” and makes a huge impact with minimal effort. This has to be one of the easiest ways to add instant holiday flair to your house. Red bows can be inexpensively purchased just about anywhere during the season and you can probably even pick a few up on your next trip to the grocery store.
Here we attached very large bows to the columns of this front porch for a look that’s simple, Christmassy, and very welcoming. Your guests will love it and think you’re so clever for adding that little bit of Christmas cheer. Also, the house looks terrific during daytime before your exterior Xmas lights are switched on. People so often decorate their house with nighttime in mind, but it’s as important for your outdoor decor to be festive during daytime as well, especially when you’re having friends and family over for a Christmas open house or a mid-day meal.
Here we added a large red bow to a black wrought iron lantern. It’s classy and so wintery. This look is so pretty that it almost makes you forget that it’s cold outside.
Back inside the house, we dressed up this beautiful white armoire with two red bows to add a touch of Xmas to a guest bedroom. It took less than two minutes to do and the look is very inviting, making your overnight holiday guests feel an extra sense of Christmas hospitality.
Bows are inexpensive, very versatile and can easily be incorporated into your decor without having to move around any furniture. When you buy bows, they are usually fairly flat looking, so make sure to fluff them up to add some dimension.
Hope this inspires you to decorate your house for the holiday. Merry Christmas!
