Faux fur Throws: Love Them or Hate Them?
I recently went to Montreal to visit my family, friends and, of course, my favorite furniture and accessory stores. While shopping, I couldn’t’ believe how many faux fur throws I saw. Although they’ve been on trend for quite a few years, it seems like this year they have completely invaded the market, showing that this trend is definitely here to stay a while longer.
I spotted the throws artfully draped over just about everything, like sofas, chairs, beds, ottomans, and pouffes, or neatly piled on tables. I saw them in brown, ivory, grey, caramel, black, with animal spots, and with stripes. I must declare that I like faux fur throws, but never decorate with real fur. I love using the faux versions — they look natural and rustic and bring softness and warmth to a space. They’re also the coziest thing to wrap yourself in when reading a book, watching a movie, or just enjoying a nice cup of coffee.
Chatting with friends, I’ve realized that not everyone shares my love for faux fur and that some people don’t like any kind of fur whether it’s real or fake. They think the faux fur is tacky or creepy, especially if it’s just too close to the real thing.
So I’m wondering, how do YOU feel about it? Do you like it or hate the faux fur look?
