Create a plant wall outdoors with no-damage DécoBrick™ hangers

Creating a beautiful outdoor space for relaxing, entertaining or special occasions can be quick and easy. We effortlessly designed a plant wall using indoor plants and supplies found around the house. Here's how you can create your own living plant wall using DécoBrick™ hangers and instantly transform your outdoor patio into an oasis.

Choose your plants 

The interesting thing about indoor plants is that they grow naturally outdoors in climates that support them. Often, temperatures warm up enough during summertime, so that many of our favorite indoor plants can also thrive outside. In our wall, we used the snake plant, but you can easily check online or with your local gardening store to find which of your plants can be transferred outdoors for the season.

Tip: it’s best to use plants in lightweight pots. Heavy ceramic pots with a smooth surface should be avoided. Weigh the potted plants after they are watered and only select ones that are less than the DécoBrick weight tolerance of 15 lb.

Make a pot hanger

It is really simple to get the pots ready to hang. We used twine that we had around the house. Wrap the string around the middle of the pot 3 or 4 times. Knot the string at the pot so that it’s tight, and create a small loop that will hang onto the DécoBrick hanger.

Using DécoBrick hangers

We designed DécoBrick hangers to be easy to use. They come in two head shapes - button and hook. We suggest using the hook style head because it has a deep groove to keep the string from the plant pot intact. 

To install, simply hook the bottom of the hanger underneath the bottom edge of the brick, and then using your thumb stretch and clip the top of the hanger to the top edge of the brick. That’s it! Then hang your pot onto the head of the DécoBrick and you’re done.

Note: in order to work correctly, the mortar between the bricks must be recessed at least ¼ inch. 

When it’s time to remove the plants and take them back indoors, the hangers are just as easy to remove and can be repositioned or used again for another project.

Tip: You can remove the plants from the wall to water them and then easily rehang them.

Get creative!

DécoBrick hangers are easy to reposition. Simply unclip them and move them to a new spot. This makes it easy to try the plants in different arrangements until you find the one you like the best. You can also add other items, such as annual plants from the garden store, artwork or other decor. Get creative and have fun!
