How to hang a holiday wreath on brick without drilling holes

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to deck the walls! Sure, nothing can steal the spotlight from your Christmas tree, but a festive holiday wreath is just the thing your wall needs to start the season’s greetings. Get your home holiday ready in a flash without drilling any holes. It took less than 5 minutes to hang a wreath on brick without any tools or damage!

Hanging hardware hack for a wreath

Not all wreaths come with hanging hardware on the back, but don’t worry, we’ve got an easy hack if that’s the case. Take a zip tie and insert it into the wreath; form a loop that becomes a makeshift hook. Make sure the loop is big enough to fit around the DécoBrick hook, but small enough that it remains hidden behind your wreath when it hangs on the wall.

Two head styles to hang any décor

DécoBrick comes in two different patented head designs: a button and hook. The button head is designed for sawtooth hangers and keyholes, often found on mailboxes, clocks and signs, while the hook is designed for wire or D-rings and works well for lights and wreaths. Although we recommend one type of head to fit different hardware, choose the one that works best for you depending on what you’re hanging. We used the hook head for hanging our wreath.

How to install DécoBrick

DécoBrick is easy to install and remove with no tools required. Simply hook the bottom of the hanger underneath the bottom edge of the brick, and then using your thumb stretch and hook the top of the hanger to the top edge of the brick. When it’s time for a change, the hangers are just as easy to remove and can be repositioned or used again for another project.

Easy to remove and reuse

The removal process is just as fast as the application. Removing the DécoBrick hanger is simply the reverse of installing it. Slightly stretch the hanger upwards using your fingers and unclip it from the brick.

You can easily adjust the position of the hooks as needed, without worrying about any damage to your brick. This makes it a perfect solution for hanging seasonal décor.

Not all bricks are the same

​​DécoBrick hangers can be used on brick inside or outside your home. They are designed to work with standard North American bricks that are 2 ¼” tall, but will stretch to accommodate slight variations in brick height from 2 ⅛” to 2 ½”. In order to install properly and securely, the mortar needs to be recessed by a minimum of ¼”.

Easy wreath styling ideas

This wreath is one of the most unique ones we’ve come across, so when we saw it at the store, we just had to get our hands on it. It’s made of white glitter berries and perfect for winter. 

You can hang the wreath as is, but in the spirit of the upcoming holidays, we thought it’d be fun to add a touch of Christmas to it. While the white wreath by itself is stunning, we knew a certain flair would complement it well, so we tied a big red bow on the top and let the ribbons drape down effortlessly. Doesn’t this just scream Christmas? We love it! 

In another look, we added red berries to the wreath. We played around with the position and zhuzhed it up, so it looked like it was meant to be there in the first place. All’s fair in the decorating world, and there’s no harm in DIYing something to make it better! Don’t be afraid to experiment with styling until it looks good to you.
