How to Hang a Holiday Wreath on Brick Walls Without Drilling Holes

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to deck the walls! Sure, nothing can steal the spotlight from your Christmas tree, but a festive holiday wreath is just the thing your wall needs to start the season’s greetings. Get your home holiday ready in a flash without drilling any holes and keep your sanity. It takes 5 minutes or less!

See how we easily hung our wreath:

The brick hanger: DécoBrick™

So what’s the big secret? It all lies in this small but mighty hook, DécoBrick. It’s a brick hanger that won't damage your wall in any way and secures your décor in place. Don’t be fooled by its size though; DécoBrick can hold up to 15 lbs of weight, so you can hang a variety of items from wreaths, to signs, mailboxes, and more without any worries about it falling off.

Hook hack for the wreath

Not all wreaths come with a hook or hanging hardware on the back, but don’t worry, we’ve got an easy hack if that’s the case. Take a zip tie, trim it to the right length, and form a loop to create a makeshift hook. Make sure the loop is big enough to fit around DécoBrick, but small enough that it remains hidden behind your wreath when it hangs on the wall.

Before installing DécoBrick, determine how high to hang your wreath. Not only is this hanger non-damaging to your walls, it’s super easy to install and remove too!

One hook, two heads

DécoBrick comes in two different head designs: a button hook and traditional hook. Either works great to support zip ties. What’s the difference then? The button hook is designed for sawtooth hooks or keyholes, while the traditional hook is designed for wire or D-rings. Although we recommend one type of head to fit different hardware, choose the one that works best for you depending on what you’re hanging.

How to hang DécoBrick

Missed the how-to video above? Watch it again here.

  1. Hook the bottom edge of the DécoBrick hanger on the underside of the brick.

  2. Slightly stretch the hanger to clasp the top edge over the brick.

  3. Hang your wreath by hooking the zip tie (or built-in hardware) onto the DécoBrick.

It’s the three easiest steps you’ll follow! DécoBrick can also be easily moved if you ever need to adjust its position - it’s the kinda hook that allows you to get your stuff perfectly in place. See how flush against the wall brick our wreath sits? Perfection!

How to remove DécoBrick

The removal process is just as fast as the application.

  1. Slightly stretch the hanger.

  2. Unclip DécoBrick from the wall.

That's it! It's easy, damage-free and no strings attached!

Styling

Look #1

This wreath is one of the most unique ones we’ve come across, so when we saw it at the store, we just had to get our hands on it. It’s made of white glitter berries and perfect for winter.

Look #2

You can hang the wreath as is, but in the spirit of the upcoming holidays, we thought it’d be fun to add a touch of Christmas to it. While the white wreath by itself is stunning, we knew a certain flair would complement it well, so we tied a big red bow on the top and let the ribbons drape down effortlessly. Doesn’t this just scream Christmas? We love it!

Cutting the right ribbon size

The secret to achieving this undone look is really just to let the ribbon hang where it falls, but it also helps to get the sizing of the ribbon right. Always start with a long ribbon and tie it onto the wreath before you cut it shorter. Trim a little bit of the ribbon at a time until you get the right length that looks best to you. It’s always safer to have more than not enough and having to restart the whole process.

Pro tip: When cutting the ribbon shorter, fold the ribbon in half and cut it diagonally at an angle, so when it unfolds flat, the ribbon has pointy edges to it.

Look #3

In our last look, we added red berries to the wreath. We played around with the position and zhuzhed it up, so it looked like it was meant to be there in the first place. All’s fair in the decorating world, and there’s no harm in DIYing something to make it better! Experiment with styling until it looks good to you.

Which of the three looks do you like best? From a neutral, fall wreath to some christmas pizazz, your home is instantly ready to welcome guests in for the holidays!

Wasn’t that easy? No more breaking out a sweat or breaking the bank to hang the wall décor you love. These hooks can also be used both indoors and outdoors, so the decorating possibilities are endless. Now imagine cozying up by the fireplace with a hot cup of cocoa and Christmas tunes playing in the background. The holiday countdown begins!
