Q: The DécoVinyl™ didn’t click into the seam and sits out at an angle. Is it ok to use?
A: DécoVinyl hangers slip into the seam that holds the pieces of siding together, and the shape of these seams can vary so you won’t always get a “click” when installing the hook. If you are trying to install the hook close to the spot where the siding is nailed into the wall, the seam there may be too tight to get the hook in. Usually picking a spot 2-3 inches away from that spot will work.
Depending on the profile of the siding, the hook will sometimes stick out at a slight angle until an item is placed on it. However, when it is installed correctly it will feel firmly in place and should not come out easily. Once you hang your item onto the hook, it typically will flatten against the wall.
Q: The DécoVinyl™ hangers when touched come out of the vinyl seam.
A: Generally speaking, if the hanger is seated into the seam correctly then it should be completely solid. One of the reasons that it may not feel secure is if it's not seated fully into the fold of the seam. This can be difficult if the location is very close to the nail securing the panel to the wall. In this case, because it's held so closely to the wall, the metal can't get into the seam.
Sometimes you need to move the hanger an inch or so in either direction down the seam and it will snap right in. You should be able to give it a good solid tug and it shouldn’t move at all.
