Welcome to The Purple Door Cottage

Some people name their car, their bike, or their boat. This inspired me to name my cottage – welcome to my Purple Door Cottage.

The reason for the name is simple. With taupe siding and white trim, the cottage was in desperate need of a pop of color. My daughter and I searched coloured doors on Pinterest and fell in love with this beautiful deep purple. The color is perfect for our space – it’s bright and can be seen all the way from the top of the driveway.  When people ask which cottage is ours – we say “the one with the purple door”.

My husband and I have spent the last 9 months renovating the cottage. We’re now ready to share pictures of how we transformed it into a large, bright, open concept space.  It’s perfect for family gatherings and relaxing. I’m thrilled to show you what’s hiding behind the purple door, including lots of fun decorating ideas with a true cottage flair.

The purple door is such a welcoming sight when I pull up in the driveway. It reminds me that I’m here at the Lake, my happy place.
