Considering the amount of time we spend at our desks, it makes sense to have something pretty and interesting to look at, don't you think? You're lucky if you have a window to gaze out of, but those can be limited in office settings. So, if you're staring at a blank wall all day, how about jazzing it up with art and adding accessories to your work space? We had fun with ours by hanging a trendy black glasses frame, a white canvas and a super large clock - after all you need to know when it's time to log off.
Spring is in bloom, and so is our wall!
Art doesn't have to be expensive. You can make your own, just like we like we did. Aren't these prints beautiful? All we did was build a virtual bouquet - aka, picked photos of flowers that we liked on the internet. We chose mainly peonies because they are great spring flowers and well, it's one of our favorites. We also enlarged portions of the image to focus on aspects of the flowers that we liked.
I know, we've seen tons of pink hues in last few years but personally, I was not ready to move on to another color until I had my own pink wall. Whether you call it pink, blush or rose, it's feminine without being too girly. When you think pink, don't think for a second that this special spring color is limited to a little girls' rooms. No way! Check out which wall we transformed with this super fab color and the surprising place my inspiration came from!
Ok, let's be honest, how long would it take you to hang 3 pictures in a perfect column like you see in this photo? Probably 15 minutes, maybe less, maybe more. Right? What if I told you you could do it in less than 5 minutes? I'm not kidding, that's exactly how long it look me to hang these 3 frames when we filmed this video. Watch!
If you guessed red, you're right! I was thrilled to hear that Benjamin Moore picked "Caliente" - a vibrant shade of red - as their color of the year. A team of 7 traveled the world for a year exploring design trends to help them select "red" for their color choice. See how a pop of this energetic color can transform interiors.
Have you ever struggled getting a picture frame on a hook or nail on the first try? If so, you know how tricky it is. Each time the hook is missed, one more scratch is added to the wall - you try again and again and again hoping that this time you'll get it. Arghhh!!!!
I love black and white, I love symmetry and I love large frames so I decided to combine my three loves to create a perfectly straight gallery row of frames.
A new year means a new calendar! Call me old fashioned, but I love having a paper calendar on my walls. Although all my appointments are on my Google calendar, the paper version is like having a timeline on my walls - at a glance I know exactly where I am.
We all know how frustrating hanging pictures can be, and often pictures can sit on floors for months before homeowners get the nerve to tackle this daunting task.
Deciding what to hang in a bedroom can be a real nightmare. What color, what theme, what size of art, how many pieces and what's the overall feeling you want to create.
You buy the perfect size of frames to frame pictures of your family, vacation or pets. When the time comes to hang them, you're feeling confused because you don't know where to begin.
If you hate hanging pictures, you'll LOVE these frames. Meet our brand new picture frames called Place&Push. At first glance they may look like any other frames but they're not. The big difference is in the way you hang them - you simply push the frames into the wall to hang them.
Here's a simple tip that will save you time and headaches too. When hanging a grouping of identical frames, number the back of the frames from 1 to 9 (or however many you're putting up) starting with the one on the right, top row, second row right to left, and bottom row right to left.
I have flamingos on mine! I was looking for something fun and fresh with a tropical theme to hang on the bathroom walls of our cottage. Flamingos turned out to be the perfect decorating choice.
