How-Tos and Inspiration
Deciding what to hang in a bedroom can be a real nightmare. What color, what theme, what size of art, how many pieces and what's the overall feeling you want to create.
This bedroom is very spacious, but it was also very dated. After 17 years of enjoying the old cottage, my husband and I finally bit the bullet and renovated. New flooring, a fresh coat of paint and different furniture placement that's all that was needed to transform this master into a peaceful retreat.

If you're looking for a stylish and affordable way to fill a blank wall, frame a poster. You'd be surprised at how quickly it will add style to your space with minimal effort and money.
Sometimes something as simple as choosing a chair can be a real challenge. For this bedroom, we tried out three different chairs. Which would you pick?

Sometimes all a room needs is a fresh coat of paint to bring it to life.
When choosing art for your home, consider the shape of your walls and place pieces to fit the space. Here, the short, wide space between the window and table is perfect to display anything horizontal in shape. Since I didn't have a single landscape sized piece, I hung two small pictures horizontally.
Benjamin Moore just announced their color of the year for 2016 "Simply White" and I couldn’t be happier with their choice. After months of renovating our family cottage, we painted everything white - everything from walls, ceilings, baseboards, doors to casings and I LOVE it. No regrets!
Despite a tight budget and very little time, we were able to transform this teenager’s bedroom into a mature grown-up space that is serene and restful. This one-day makeover was achieved simply by rearranging the furniture, adding new pillows, and by borrowing a few accessories from other rooms in the house.
Spring cleaning is the perfect opportunity to take the time to freshen up your home décor by simply re-arranging the placement of your furniture and accessories. It’s kind of like giving your house a mini makeover by using things you already have, which is exactly what we did with this small bedroom. We created a designer look on a dime, which completely wowed the homeowner.
