What’s hanging on your walls? We’d love to know, so we’re launching a new way for you to share photos of your favorite wall décor: #OnTheWall Friday.
On any Friday, starting today, just take a picture of something that’s hanging on your wall. Then post it to your Instagram account or to our Facebook page with the hashtag #OnTheWallFriday.
In your comments, tell us a bit about your image. Let us know why you chose the item, what the artwork means to you, or how it makes you feel. If theres’s a story behind it, give us the highlights. And we’ll make it rewarding, too. Every month, we’ll choose our favourite photo, and the winning photographer will receive a goodie bag of our picture hanging tools.
To start things off, our Co-Founder Liette wanted to share one of her fleur-de-lis wall sconces. In the photo above, we’ve shown just one of them, but you may have also noticed two of the sconces featured recently in our ‘Cheap Chic’ DIY Wall Display.
When Liette spotted the sconces at a garage sale, she just had to have them. “To me, the fleur-de-lis means home,” she says. She’s originally from the Canadian province of Quebec, where the symbol features prominently on the provincial flag, and on license plates too. Every time Liette sees the sconces, she feels happy. And sometimes they remind her to call her Mother!
We can’t wait to see your #OnTheWallFriday pictures, so snap away and post to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag.
Happy Friday from the team at UTR Decorating.
